ROUTE 66 - PONY BRIDGE

Photos of the bridge over the South Canadian River west of Bridgeport OK, on historical Route 66. The bridge consists of 38 "pony" trusses each 100 feet long. In the movie The Grapes of Wrath, Grandpa dies before the Joad family leaves Oklahoma and is buried near the west end of the bridge.
